Facebook (FB) and Opentable (OPEN) have announced a partnership under which Facebook will offer Opentable restaurant reservations through an integrated mobile app. This deal once again brings to the fore Facebook’s renewed efforts to leverage its increasingly popular mobile user base, which has crossed 140 million users, according to a recent release. The details of the revenue sharing agreement are not yet out but this deal is expected to bring more bookings to Opentable through its partner sites and comes at a time when Opentable is seeing increasing competition from Yelp, the social local review site.
