The statement of cash flows comprises of cash flow from financing, cash flow from operations and cash flow from investing activities. All the three can have an impact on the stock price. The Barclays stock price history and Barclays stock comparison chart inevitably reflect its cash flow situation. Apart from the Barclays stock price, this is one of the things an investor looks for, as it shows the net change in cash on hand for a company, compared to previous period. Operating cash flow or working capital comes from main business activities. Investors look for positive cash flow from recurring operating activities. A company with surplus cash usually thinks of re-investing it in the form of buying fixed assests, or purchasing plant/ machinery which will help grow the business further. By looking at cash flow from investment activities one can check where the company is putting its cash. The money accounted for under this head comes from external sources which includes lenders, investors and shareholders. Positive cash flow is generated when the company gets cash because of issuance of stocks or bonds. Similarly negative cash flow is generated when shares are repurchased, dividend payments are made, and loans or interest on loans are paid back. .
