Facebook Inc Business Profile

Facebook with ticker symbol FB got listed on the NASDAQ on May 18, 2012. Facebook relies on the advertising business model to generate revenue and will always remain free for the users.

Facebook faces stiff competition from companies like Alphabet Inc.(GOOGL) formerly Google Inc (GOOGL) and Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) which have been in the business of providing online advertising for a much longer time. While Google and Microsoft rely on internet search to provide targeted ads, Facebook provides the same based on demographics like age, gender and interests.

The company is subject to a variety of laws and regulations pertaining to user privacy, data protection, and protection of minors.
